Lenspector

A contamination test is performed by Lenspector according to ISO 10110-7 or -11. Depending on the lens diameter, this standard establishes a limit value for contamination and other imperfections on the lenses surface. When those are located nowhere near the object plane nor the image plane, small impurities inside the lens usually will have no effect on the image quality. But if the contamination is excessively high, the picture may locally darken or have drop shadows. Our testing process ensures that neither the general area of imperfections nor any specific location exceeds the range defined in the standard.

In order to ensure that the stated imperfection threshold value is not exceeded, we offer an automatic test that tests up to 100 lenses each tray. This is accomplished by scanning each lens with a telecentric lens and utilizing in-house software to evaluate the contamination that is found in relation to the size of the entrance pupil. The color-coded representation of the results makes it simple to identify which lenses are impacted. A full CSV file containing the results is available as well. The test will take 20 to 30 minutes to complete, depending on the type of lens and how many lenses need to be inspected.
